Compatibility
On top of being iron-friendly, Glitter is also:

  • Layerable
  • CPSIA Certified
  • Laser-Friendly

Here is a list of materials that Glitter can be applied to:

  • 100% Cotton
  • 100% Polyester
  • Poly/Cotton Blends
  • Leather
  • Lycra/Spandex

*Before beginning, you will also want to ensure your cutter is set to the proper settings in order for your design to cut correctly. Refer to this document to check for your specific cutting machine. A quick test cut will help you confirm whether or not your cutter needs any adjustments.

Tutorial
Feel free to view our video instructional to follow along with the instructions below!

Home Iron Tutorial

  1. Firstly, ensure your iron is set between the cotton and linen function. Refer to the list outlining compatible materials before attempting to transfer your design.

  2. You will then want to cover your design with Kraft paper, or a non-stick cover sheet.

  3. Placing your covered design on a flat, hard surface (your ironing board is not recommended for this step). You will need to press down with medium, firm pressure for at least 10-15 seconds.

  4. If you notice any areas of the cover sheet lifting after application, you can cover your design and press down again for another 5-10 seconds.

  5. Finally, you can now peel the carrier off of your garment hot or cold.

Heat Press Tutorial

  1. For those of you who have access to a heat press, you will need to start by cutting your design in reverse. After cutting, you will need to weed any of the excess material.

  2. Make sure your garment or material you are heat transferring to is preheated for at least 2-3 seconds.

  3. Next, apply your design at 305°F / 150°C. If you are an EasyPress user, be sure to add an extra 30°.

  4. Press down with medium, firm pressure for 10-15 seconds.

  5. Finally, you can peel the carrier off hot or cold.

Laundering Instructions

Be sure to follow these laundering instructions so that your design can set properly without fading or tears.

  1. Wait at least 24 hours before giving your garment its first wash.

  2. Machine wash with warm or cold water using mild detergent.

  3. Do not bleach, dry clean, or use liquid fabric softener.

  4. Dry using the normal dryer setting.

Endnotes
By following these instructions, you will be a Heat Transfer Vinyl pro in no time! Always remember to do test cuts when reconfiguring your cutting machine, and to follow the laundering instructions to avoid fading or stretching on your design.
